		<description><![CDATA[Actually, the reason most fast food places do this is because their cashiers often STEAL. I am very sensitive to this right now as my wallet was just stolen from my open house but this is also coming form someone who understands the scam.

You see, if the cashier knows what your total is (ie: $5.29 for the one item combo including tax) they may just &quot;tell&quot; you that and then make the change and pocket the money.  If you ask for the receipt, you are helping them to keep their cashiers from commiting fraud. It also keeps the cashier from being tempted as they know they will be caught.  Sad but true I am afraid.
